Father Bernard Brewer SJ Bursary

The Father Bernard Brewer SJ Bursary enables St David’s to support deserving boys with potential from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

Mizpah Bursary Fund

The Mizpah Bursary Fund (“mizpah” is a Biblical term meaning “words of blessing, protection and inspiration”) was founded in August 2017 by a bursary recipient who matriculated at the end of 2017. His wish in founding the bursary, with an initial R1 000 that he had raised through his own efforts, is that future boys in need will be able to have the same opportunities as he enjoyed at St David's.

Br Jude Pieterse Marist Alexandra Bursary Fund

To honour the legacy of Br Jude Pieterse, founding Trustee of the St David's Marist Foundation, who passed away on 12 December 2022, the Foundation has established this bursary to support scholars attending the newly-established St David's Marist Alexandra satellite campus in Alexandra.

Willy & Dorothy Castle Extramural Bursary

The Willy & Dorothy Castle Extramural Bursary, named in honour of Willy Castle and his mother, Dorothy Castle, is awarded to boys who show promise in the areas of sport or culturals while being able to maintain the required academic standard.

Tertiary Education Bursary Fund

The Tertiary Education Bursary fund provides tertiary bursary support (following the approval of an official approach) for St David's past pupils wishing to pursue a teaching qualification, or funding donated by specific donors towards their St David's bursary recipient's tertiary education requirements.

Old Boys’ Bursary Fund

The St David’s Marist Old Boys’ Bursary is a grant that is awarded by the Marist Old Boys’ Association either to the son of an alumnus or to a candidate identified by the association.

Staff Giving Fund

The Staff Giving Fund, donated to by numerous St David’s staff, assists any learner in need with support for uniforms, books, the payment of school tours, and other incidental costs such as medical appointment necessities.
