Team Marist Success
The first-ever Team Marist Champagnat Day 2021 ‘virtual’ Run concluded on Sunday 20 June.
Thank you to all participants across all five South African Marist Schools - St David's Marist Inanda, Sacred Heart College and Marist Brothers Linmeyer in Johannesburg, St Henry’s Marist College in Durban, and St Joseph’s Marist College in Cape Town – and a very special thank you to our St David's Marist Inanda community for their remarkable engagement with this event.
Team Marist in Numbers
- 1 320: the number of entries across all five schools.
- 444: how many entries were from the St David's community.
- R118 000: the overall amount raised through entry fees and donations.
- R45 300: how much the St David's participants raised!
- 5: the number of continents Team Marist participants took part on - Africa, Europe, North America, Asia (Middle East), and Oceania/Australia (New Zealand).
- >2 000: the total kilometres the St David's community ran/walked/hiked/biked/canoed, played golf over, over the course of the event.
All donations have gone to the St David’s Champagnat Day Fund, and one-fifth of the funds raised will be going to the Three2Six Programme at Sacred Heart College (for refugee children) and the Marist Mercy Care Programme in the Eastern Cape.
