Sport
We subscribe to the notion of a healthy mind in a healthy body. Sport, in addition to academics and culturals, is therefore a vital part of the St David’s Prep School curriculum.
Our philosophy in the Prep School is to provide our boys with a sports programme that is inclusive, and strongly encourages participation in a safe environment that allows each boy to reach his own potential. We instil life values, including hard work, through the variety of sporting codes that we offer at St David’s.
Our emphasis in the Prep is one of participation and we do not subscribe to the “win at all costs” philosophy – although with the depth of participation, we regard ourselves as a successful sporting school.
Sport is compulsory in our school and we expect each boy to participate in a minimum of one sport each season. Those who wish to, however, can play as many sports as they like and this results in some of those boys being involved in sport six days of the week. The one proviso is that a boy's academic performance is not compromised from too much involvement!
We pride ourselves on creating a safe environment for our boys to fail, learn and grow.
