Montrose Meteors won the U12 T10 cricket festival at the St David’s Marist Summer Festival for the third year in a row, beating the hosts, St David’s Dynamite, in the final on Saturday. Montrose made 101 in their 10 overs and St David’s were going well before they lost a bunch of wickets and they ended 20- odd runs short.
St David’s Leonardo Soares was named the player of the festival for his 228 runs, with a top score of 80. Rivonia’s Tristan Osborne was the best batsman with 208 runs, while Lesedi Challies of Montrose was the best bowler. He took 15 wickets in all, with best figures of 6/7.
