Mini-Marists' Exciting Educational Updates and Events
Mini-Marists, a hub of early childhood education excellence, has been buzzing with activity this term, bringing innovative changes to our classrooms and hosting exciting events that engage and inspire our young learners. Here's a glimpse of the latest happenings at this space.
Staff Compliment Adjustment
Our dedicated staff members continue to provide top-notch education to our students. We'd like to extend a warm welcome to Mrs. Ah Sing, who is currently standing in for Mrs. Swartbooi in Grade 0S while she is on maternity leave. Mrs. Swartbooi's will return in September.
Empowering Educators with Kagan Workshops
Our commitment to professional development is unwavering. This term, our staff had the privilege of participating in a Kagan workshop, enhancing their teaching skills and strategies to create an engaging and interactive learning environment.
Sports and Fun Activities
At Mini-Marists, we understand the importance of a well-rounded education. To promote physical activity and teamwork, our Grade 0 students enjoy soccer sessions once a week. Additionally, our little ones in Grade 00 immersed themselves in the magic of storytelling during Twilight Tales.
Celebrating Special Days
We recently marked Champagnat Day, where our students celebrated the feast day of St Marcellin Champagnat, the founder of the Marist Brothers. We also had a "Dress like your dad day" to strengthen the bond between our students and their fathers/ father figures. Mandela Day was a special occasion where we honoured the legacy of Nelson Mandela through various educational and service activities.
Enriching Cultural Experiences
Our young learners had the privilege of attending the Betty Button show, a delightful performance tailored for Grade 00 and Grade 0 students. This experience allowed them to explore creativity and imagination.
Friendly Competition in Sports
Sportsmanship and teamwork were on full display during the Foundation Phase Interhouse soccer event, where our students showcased their athletic abilities and sportsmanship.
Embracing Technology
In a significant educational upgrade, each classroom in Mini-Marists has been equipped with a Tutor Touch panel, enhancing the way our students learn. Training on this technology took place in July, and we have already witnessed its positive impact on our classrooms. We are excited to announce that each class will soon receive Lego Brick sets, introducing the innovative Six Brick approach to enhance creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Cutting-Edge Learning Spaces
Our commitment to providing the best learning environment for our students is evident in our classrooms. With the integration of KCSA furniture and Tutor Touch TVs, our classrooms are now world-class spaces where young minds can thrive and explore.
Stay Informed with PODcasts
We are excited to share that we have released two editions of our PODcast newsletter this term. In May, we explored the topic of Sensory seeking vs. Sensory avoidance, and in June, we provided practical tips on Differentiation in the classroom. These PODcasts are designed to inform our parents and community about our educational practices and philosophies.
At Mini-Marists, we are dedicated to nurturing young minds, providing quality education, and creating memorable experiences for our students. Stay tuned for more exciting developments and events as we continue to inspire the leaders of tomorrow.
