Uniting Elite Runners and Fostering Community Spirit at St David's Marist Inanda
St David's Marist Inanda is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the highly anticipated Team Marist Inaugural Inanda-Alex Run, an event that brought together 20 runners from the school community. Held on the 11th of June 2023, this exhilarating 11 -kilometer on-road run showcased the passion and community spirit that define St David's Marist Inanda.
Under the warm morning sun, the participants, including staff members, old boys, and parents, set off from the Inanda Campus at 08:00, embarking on a challenging course that led them to the Alex Campus.
The run from Inanda to Alex and back again was more than just a physical challenge; it served as a celebration of unity within our school linking our St David’s Inanda and Alex campuses and communities.
"We are immensely proud of the runners who participated in the inaugural Inanda-Alex Run, showing a commitment to our Marist call to be bridge-builders and to breaking down perceptions and barriers that exist between two communities that are only 5km, yet worlds apart,” said Lara Klement, Head: Advancement at St David's Marist Inanda. "This event created the opportunity to spotlight not only the new St David’s satellite campus in Alex, but a new educational model that serves to increase access to quality education and serves to further fulfil the Marist vision and mission.”
