St David's Marist Inanda Foundation News

The St David’s Marist Foundation concluded an invigorating 2023 with donor funding received of just under R6.5 million and funding awards made to the School of R8.5 million. The funding award included the funding of 22 St David’s bursary scholars and a significant contribution to the establishment of the St David’s Marist Alexandra campus, thanks to St David’s families, staff, Old Boys, corporate and local and international trusts’ funding and donations.

We thank our St David’s community who gave so generously to the Foundation’s annual Christmas Giving campaign at the end of last year (a combined total of R38 500 was raised towards the main Fr Bernard Brewer SJ Bursary Fund and to the Old Boys’ Bursary Fund) and to the launch of the St David’s Memorial Pipe Organ Appeal (R335 000 donated to date - towards a total amount required of R600 000). The Pipe Organ appeal will continue until Easter – we are well over halfway to being able to make the installation of this very special addition to the Chapel of Mary, and St David’s campus, a reality.

We look forward to sharing further updates from the Foundation with you during the year, including news of the annual Montagne Day Pledge campaign which takes place with the St David’s boys towards the end of October.

All donations to the St David’s Marist Foundation qualify for a Section 18A tax certificate, and donations received up to and including 29 February 2024 will qualify for a tax certificate for the current tax year. Donations to the Business in Education BEE Bursary Fund qualify for SED and SD points.
