Basketball
Basketball was reintroduced at St David’s in 2012.
The first few seasons were tough as we faced schools with well-established basketball programmes, but St David’s has now positioned itself as one of South Africa’s schools basketball powerhouses.
A couple of hundred boys represent St David’s throughout the age groups, in boys’ schools leagues in Johannesburg and Pretoria.
We host the annual St David’s Marist Inanda Hoops Classic Challenge, and compete in various tournaments around the country. The school upgraded our basketball facilities a few years ago and we now have three dedicated NBA standard basketball courts with change room and spectator facilities.
